Pak child peace activist Malalas sent to United Kingdom for treatment

Young Pakistani peace activist Malalas Yousufzai, who was wounded in an attack by the Taliban last week, was sent to the United Kingdom for treatment, according to a statement issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), television reported.

The decision was taken to the United Kingdom to send Malalas after consultation with her family members, according to the report by the TV channel.

The Pakistani Government bears all costs for her treatment, the statement added.

Malalas Yousufzai, the 14-year-old Swat girl who defended the cause of the education of girls and dare to criticize of Taliban attack on schools and school-age girls, was shot and seriously injured on her way home from school in Mingora on 9 October. Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack of chilling and threatened her again and to kill her if they managed to survive this time.

Earlier on Monday, was an air ambulance arrived from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to shift Malalas abroad as part of contingency plans.

The Government had said that the Royal family of the United Arab Emirates had planned an air ambulance is sent for the 14-year-old school girl in case of doctors decided to send her abroad for treatment.

Meanwhile, an ISPR statement yesterday said that the fan had Malalas for a while today, television reported.

Doctors are still follow Malalas of condition, military spokesman Maj. Asim Saleem Bajwa said yesterday.

"Doctors have viewed the condition and Malalas satisfied," Bajwa added.
