The Vuvuzela is to ensure that a memorable splash with visitors Kuala Lumpur's Sunway Lagoon
World's largest water-ride, the Vuvuzela is set to rock visitors on Kuala Lumpur Sunway Lagoon, once it is open to the public early next month.
The ride of 15 million ringgit (US $ 4.8 million) water, which at the height of an 11-storey building, is the latest feature to be included in the theme park, which also features a RM5mil Waterplexx 5 D attraction in the waters of Africa water park.
Assistant General Manager Adron Leow said the attractions included as part of the park 20th anniversary celebration is revealed.
He said the Waterplexx, the first of its kind in the country, had already become a big hit with visitors and the Vuvuzela was expected to add more excitement to the park.
' This is the world's largest water ride and it will offer visitors a lot of memorable moments, "he said. "Visitors will be taken to the launch deck via Elevator before sliding down on rafts from the height of an 11-storey building."
Leow said the Vuvuzela was 70 m long and 40 m wide, making it more than twice the size of similar rides in Malaysia.
"Two types of rafts-with a capacity of four to six people respectively-will be made available for the ride.
"The actual ride is 152 m long and can be compared to riding the rapids in the river by a flood before visitors in's world's largest water funnel, which is 22 m in diameter and 4 m above the ground is," he said
Within the funnel water Leow said riders would be zero gravity experience if they up the other side of the funnel shots to reach the top of the ride.
He said they would be up to four similar oscillations in the funnel, more than any other ride in the world, before they experienced shot back in the enclosed Flume and finally rest in the Vuvuzela splashdown pool.
"This is what makes the Vuvuzelas world's largest and most awesome water ride. Other attractions just can't compare, "he said.
He added that the Vuvuzela was also equipped with a private one-of-a-kind LED lighting display for night scene.
"The water attraction was designed and built by the White Water West Industries Ltd of Canada," he said.
